It is a little hard to find a nice sled (I am from Maine as well), but not too bad. I found my 01 MXZ a couple years ago and it was in very nice shape, and still is after my 2 yrs of owning it. I would like to upgrade to a REV but I get tired of getting insulting $1500 offers for my sled. I buy/sell/repair some sleds here and there and the biggest thing I see is that people don't take care of their sleds. Not necessarily abuse, but just neglect.

I too have have been considering a new sled, but 10k for what I want is absurd if you ask me. I would go with the 600TNT over the 550F renegade personally. You can look at it from this perspective: It's cheaper to add a longer track on a TNT than it would be to add more power to a 550F. $600 at most from Tracks USA for a extension package. Are you going to be able to get 25 more HP from your 550F for $600?

I agree with you, most people ride their sleds pretty hard up here for a season or two without taking care of them and then try to get rid of them. 10K for a good sled is pretty outrageous, that's why I've been looking into some cheaper models, i.e. the Polaris 550 IQ shift($5,500). Getting a liquid cooled sled with almost the same if not more hrsepower then the 550F ski-doo's at a much lower price is a pretty good deal. And yea, you're right about the 600

I thought this vs that is not allowed via site policy blah blah blah.
He is intelligently comparing two models....notice he didnt ask which would win. It is also very nice to see good grammar and punctuation out of the younger folk.

Sorry, I have no opinion on the two, but this is an interesting topic.

I have another question on this topic guys,
im not sure what the looks of the renegade are, because im getting different images from both google and the dealer website

so, the top picture on this page:
http://www.travelizmo.com/archives/002728.html

and the renegade sport on this page:
http://www.westportmotorsports.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?veh=129028#detail

Both look different, not sure what one is correct...thanks

I also know that the white sled is not the tnt because the tnt has a much shorter track and the distance between the seat and the end of the track is much shorter:

Nice, haha i wouldnt have figured that out. thanks so much!

However, guys take a look at this link
this calls it a 'sport tnt 550f'
http://www.evertssales.com/snowmobile-rates.php

Personally I would never by a fan cooled sled. My friends have had them and have had nothing but troubles. If I were you I would get something around an 06 600 or 800 for much cheaper.

I wanna say whoever put up that section was mis-informed on the model, considering there is nothing called a "Sport TNT". The is a "Sport" and a "TNT" in the short track MXZ's, and a "Sport" in the Renegades, but no combo. And as to why their using the Renegade X picture (in this case a 600 ETEC - look at the hood, the ETEC has the longest writing on any sled) I have no clue.
