hi guys,

im looking to replace the tillotson carb on my 71 303 wankel with a mikuni i just dont know where to start. i need to know what size i need to get? will it just bolt on? where to get it? do i need to add a fuel pump? if so what kind of pressure does it need and how should i power it? if anyone has done this conversion that would be great. if you know any of these things please post

thanks alot

I have the same sled.

I can understand why you would want too, Mikuni are much better.

I believe it can be done?

Problems:
Have to change throttle, choke cables.

You have to change the angle of the carb, to almost straight, and/or change float setting. But those carbs do sit pretty flat, compared to others.

you will need the fuel pump, and then get a source of vacume from the case.

Size of carb????? pretty small.Have to be able to bolt up ot manifold?

Just keep practicing rebuilding th old. LOL
If you find a way to do it let me know, I have thought about it on other sleds, but a lot of hassel.

I would guess the same size as the Tillotson. It won't hurt anything..... shouldn't anyway.
A friend of mine did it to the old Harley, but went with something bigger.
Damn thing still doesn't want to work, though.
Personally, I think its a fuel pump issue.
