hey guys well ive been debating between a 98 xc 700 and a srx 700, im willing to give up some comfort for top speed thats why i would like to go with the srx 700, i just dont know how they would do on my trails, i have really tight trails a max of about 40mph on and off the gas ALOT, but have alot of lakes and feilds to open it up and i would like to do some ice drags when it comes around and i feel this sled is ideal for that, but for constantly being on and off the gas and not going fast then hammering on it on the lake how would this srx do in my area? ive never had a tripple, and dont really want one until i saw yamahas tripples are mostly bullet proof, how would this sled hold up where i am guys? is this sled more realiable then some twins(given the fact that its taken care of and maintaned) anyone know the weight of these sleds?

For what you are looking for the Yamaha would be best bet. The X10 in the XC700 isnt that much of an improved ride either. It has alot to be desired. Set the Yammi up nice and low and it will just crank in the tight corners. It will open up nicely across the lakes as well.

the viper weights 489 lbs dry so the srx with the triple pipes would prob have a little bit more weight to it. If your on and off the gas a lot just make sure you clean your clutches and that a good belt is on there to get grip. But, over all you should be all right. I would go with the SRX!!
