This might sound dumb but if i bought vforce 3 reeds for my sled would it help even more to also add a spacer kit or is that really not nessesary or does it defete the purpose. Or does it help.

Hi, I just bought an 04 renegade HO, and upon inspection I found the carb boots were delaminateing... My dealer said to replace the stock reeds with Vforse 3's for increased power over the stock reeds but forget the spacers cause I will not notice the tiny increase in power....

On some cylinders, part of the intake ports are being blocked by the reed cage. If you have one of those type of cylinders, spacers will move the reed cage away from the intake port, allowing more fuel/air in. If the reed cage is not blocking any intake ports, they won't add anything.

From what I know, there's no increase in hp with new reeds. It's all in throttle response.

^ What he said. Reeds will give you little to no HP boost. If anything, you will feel a bit better/cleaner/crisper throttle response.

My buddie who is the tech at the doo dealer told me forget v force skidoo copied there desighn on 04 and up motors and just add a spacer kit. They have dynoed the sleds and they are practicly the same with v force and stock.

I'm not disputing what your buddy said, right or wrong. But the two designs are completely different structurally. The stock reed cage has only one pyramid with a set of reed petals on each side. The VF3 has two pyramids with four reed petals. So there's no comparison as to how they're shaped.

I see were your coming from but he said they have dyoned them and said there is no dif. No doubt i will go with vfroce when my boots do go though because it is just a matter of time befor they do. Vforce has a great product alot higher quality then skidoos i would recomend them to anybody!
