Yamaha Inviter is the fastest sled ever made.

Remember that back in the day? LOL No offense intended, I won't mention names, you know who you are. I just think it's hilarious to look back on that.
Haha.. Yup.. 100mph and accelerating [beatup] I think I could get that out of it with a 500cc motor, and a boost bottle.. haha.
If anyone knows where I cn buy two of these in good shape let me know. Wife and I both want them, paint them up like our apexs ....LOL

no the apex was built by a guy named hurricane dave. this year he is over 500 hp, so he is looking to break 180mph.

check out cmsaracing.com for speed results. on a note, for improved 1000 class, them are machz triples not twins. there are no 1000 twins that have made it onto that board.

I think an srx would beat a mach, xcr, and a zrt. The srx's were some of the fastest sleds I always thought on th elake. I think the T-Cat takes the cake on this though.
LOL! I don't think so.[8D]

BOX stock HP
Mach Z 800 triple 154.2 HP
ZRT 800 Triple 151.1 HP
XCR 800 Triple 159.2 HP
Thunder Cat 1000 Triple 172 HP

SRX 700 Triple 142 HP

Cheers

^^^^^^ Thank you XCR they are blowing smoke up that SRX's tail pipe. lol j/k

The Fastest Stock Production sled is the Thundercat 1000, hands down, period, end of story. Those things go plan and simple, they will give most mod sleds a run for their money.

Polaris's little 800 is very impressive with almost 160hp stock and before the introduction of Cat's 1000, it would have been up there in the catagory of fastest production sled.

thanks for the answer's so bottom line the t-cat 1000 wa the fastest production sled ever made and the fastest mod sled is changing so fast u cant keep track. i think i got it now lol

The bottom line is you can't race HP numbers. Take a sled of "Brand X" that has been taken care of religiously and tuned well and put it up against a sled of "Brand Z" that sits in a barn all summer, clutches never cleaned, basically never maintenainced. I'll bet you money the well taken care of sled wins even if it has a 100-300cc disadvantage.

Chassis design, suspension setup, clutching, jetting, conditions, etc. all plays a part. Some seem to realize this and others seem to think they're gonna win because they have more HP.

I agree with what the other's said. Who cares who's sled is faster? All I'm concerned about is being the best rider I can be.

Your right stock HP and ET's mean nothing unless you maintain your sled religiously. Also another reason the big new 1000cc twins do not see the top speed stock that most of the old triples do is due to the new chassi and suspension design. It's also nice to have a third cylinder![;)] Proper jetting, clutching, track, suspension, belt condition, cleaning of carbs and valves is #1!! KEEP THEM RUNNING STRONG BOYS A GALS!![8D]

Cheers

^^^^^^^^
I couldn't agree more. Especially on the part of chassis and suspension design. We are going backwards as far as top speed capabilities with the newer chassis and suspensions. That's probably part of the reason the new twins can't beat the good old triples in top speed, but definitly not the only reason. Triple would be the only thing I'd own for top speed. Why spend $11K when you can spend $2500-$4000 on a triple, fix her up, throw a few aftermarket parts on her and have one heck of a fast sled for the money.

I read somewhere's before where the srx was the fastest out of the box sled, until the F7 was introduced??? Was that in 660 ft or something?? I guess I was mistaken. I'd like to test ride a T-Cat and an xcr 800 acually, all I hear in this forum is how triples are always better than twins.lmao But thats beside the point.

If i was sitting on the lake with a stock xcr, I would be a little nervous to run against a tcat, srx or machz triple.

a modded t cat in the right hands and not just a bunch of bolt on garbage aftermarket stuff. but a truely built t cat will lay down the law to about any other lake sled that is built based off its stock components. meaning rework the cylinders heads and add some pipes, gearing, cluthcing, suspension upgrades, there isnt another sled out there than can consistanly run it. some of the xcrs and machs could come close, but there is no replacement for displacement.

Same day racing old forge. This is the best of the best times each of these sleds ran that day. Same temp outside and track conditions. Gives you an idea of how close these sleds are. This does not mean they could not run faster or slower in different conditions. This is just a day that all dealers got a chance to play together. Also this is not across the lake where MPH and HP matter for the triples. Keep in mind the T-CAT BX stock is running 12 second ET at 108 MPH in the 1320. When clutched and jetted it only got better. Sleds below are quick but the T-Cat is the fastest period.

Overall DP or BS best times of the day Old forge.
MPH 660'ET 660' MPH1000' ET 1000' MPH 1320' ET 1320
ZRT 800 90.91 7.283 96.57 9.700 102.27 11.862
800 XCR 91.65 7.471 99.56 9.850 103.44 11.982
Mach Z 90.36 7.460 98.69 9.875 100.66 12.048

The Mach 1000 is not faster then XCR 800 that I know for sure. The Mach 1000 has 109 - 110 MPH top end across the lake. The 1998 Thunder Cat 1000 is the fastest stock production sled 12.00 second ET at 108mph in the 1/4 mile. A stock T-CAT 1000 world record was 120 MPH in the 1/4 mile on ice.

Cheers

that's really funny. 109 110 across a lake on a 1000 mach-z. come to Gaylord Michigan and ill show you a 1000 mach-z that will do 125mph with 170-175hp with nothing but a can and some studs and bring that xcr800.

Unless your on shaved ice and geared and clutched properly I don't believe you. Put my T-CAT or XCR on ice and I'm pretty confident that you would be in the rear. You are not seen 125 MPH across the lake on snow with that little done to your sled. Too many guys are taking down the big twins with the triples. I did see a video of a F1000 hitting 117MPH on ice once in 2000ft.

See article below.

Apex, Mach Z square off American snowmobiler

REPUTATION AND last year's Real World Shoot-Out results tell us that Ski-Doo's Mach Z is the macho muscle on winter lakes.

Last year 2005 we ran a non-studded Mach Z and other big bore sleds on the crusty snow covered ice and saw a top speed of 109.63. This year we studded the Mach and the Apex, to see the real difference, and to ensure both sleds could put their power to maximum use.
Here's our findings.

2006 Top speed? The macho Mach didn't disappoint, hitting 110.82 mph

i would say the fastest stock sled would be the t-cat but thats if itd run long enough

i would say the fastest stock sled would be the t-cat but thats if itd run long enough, so id go with the xcr800 polaris.[:D]

well yes it is geared and clutched but nothing has been done to the motor. with everything you have done to your xcr i think it would be a good shootout . but if it was stock i dont think it would pull the mach-z on top. to tell you the truth i dont think there are to many stock sleds anymore. especially the big twins and the triples .just about everyone i have seen is eather cluched ,geared ,piped or some kind of mod done to them in order to get them to run at there best.

Well i know the owner of chopper city mottersports (i think his name is Marv jorgenson) did like 195 mph on one of his modded sleds.
Yea and it was on a 1996 polaris ultra 680 triple.
